I acquired a beautiful Magenta coloured Lunaria plant a few years ago.
It has self seeded but I have had no luck in collecting the seed and re-sowing . I want to pass it on to friends. Can anyone advise me the
right time to collect the seed heads and re-sow?

The seed are now encased in a Green disc. These will dry off leaving a silver skinned disc, this is the time to collect the seeds.Just peel away the dried green skin and sow the seeds. They should be hard and brown.
If you Google "Honesty Seeds" and click on images, this will give you an idea of what they will look like.
Having said that, if I am tidying the border and a green pod needs removing before it's ripe I lay it down on the soil where I want it to grow this works well, They prefer light shade.
