I am very disappointed with my libertia as they have not flowered at all this year. They were newly planted last summer and I was hoping for some lovely flowers once they were established this summer. Unfortunately, although the leaves have grown profusely, I have not had one single flower. I put this down to the amount of rain we had over the summer and the relative lack of sunshine. I want to try and avoid a repetition next year and wonder whether there is anything I can do. Any tips welcome. Thanks.

Hi, Catherine,
It most likely is the lack of sun. Libertia like sun or partial shade which means they might be shaded for part of the day but will get direct sun for a morning or afternoon. Only other thought is it has been fed too much. Too much nitrogen will produce lots of lush foliage at the expense of flowers.

Thankyou, Kathy. As I haven't fed the plants a great deal, it must be lack of sunshine. Let's hope next summer's better!
