I had a repens for years till we moved. I have bought a new one and it has thrived. But this is more of a tree, planted last year , it has grown to four foot, looks to have a tree like appearance......so what is it ?

Ceanothus comes in many sizes depending on the variety, the repens is a ground cover type, the others are shrubs, albeit pretty big ones.
