My Veilchenblau is pretty much over now as are my other ramblers. When pruning do I just trim back the dead flower heads or do I cut all the little flowering stems right back to the host "branch"?

Good morning Claire,
Have you added this plant to your 'plants I have' list? We provide detailed how to prune for all 8 pruning groups for roses. Once you add the plant to your list the pruning advice is provided. Please write back if you have more questions once you have looked at the advice provided.
Kind regards
Nicola

Yes - my Veilchenblau is on my plantlist along with Rambling Rector. It just says about deadheading on RR but nothing on the V'blau. I wanted to know how far back to take the deadheads off. In some advice they tell you to cut right back to the main stems, in other advice you just trim the dead flowers off. Which to do with V'blau and ramblers generally?
