If it has purple coloured foliage, it could be Weigela wine and roses or midnight wine.

Thank you very much Elaine you are most helpful sorry if I was a little while getting back to you as I am finding my way around this site I have four of these and I really pruned them hard the trunks are fairly big so my hubby sawed them down as far as he could and they are now shooting again as they weren't looked after and we moved in I decided after year I was going to cut them right down but can't wait for them to come back now I have to learn how to keep looking after them now but thanks for getting back to me bye for now Pauline xx
