Does anyone know what the tall euphoriba type plant is in the foreground of the picture? It has self seeded which we are very happy about but are curious to know what it is. We also found it at Dalemain in the Lakes - see pics 2 and 3 (which better show it's greyish colour). (The on-duty staff there didn't know it either).

It is what is commonly called a mole spurge, quite invasive.

Thanks v much Elaine. We have a Manchester shade garden with very heavy clay soils that defeats even legendary thugs so it being invasive shouldn't be a problem here. I'll keep a sharp eye on it nevertheless.
