Please could anyone identity this plant for me? It is flowering now and grows to a height of about 2 feet.Flowers hang down. I think they may be bracts with the actual flowers at the end of the flowering stem.

Hi Ian,
It looks like the sweet Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens'. "Honeywort"
Can look good at the front of borders, likes free drainage areas, will self seed if happy, can be used for flower arranging.
