Seen at Tintinhull National Trust. 5 ? bulbs in a large bowl. fleshy succulent leaves and flowers. tall flower spikes with pretty white flowers all round the stem. the owner thought they were from the pineapple family. i woukld love to know what it was. thanks hazel

Hi Hazel,
Try looking up Eucomis, "Pineapply Lily", they are a bulb, not in the pineapple family; Asparagaceae instead. They are described as looking, growing rather like a pineapple with their style of growth, and they sometimes have a fruity sweet pineapple-like scent.
