My Gold Ellen shrub has completely overgrown the path leading to my greenhouse. Is it possible to prune it back now, or do I need to wait until springtime.?

I'm late seeing this question, but for future ref, I live in SE Scotland and have had no trouble pruning my E. Gold Ellen at any time of year, though I am more restrained about it in winter only cutting back bits that are really getting in the way of the tight path. It seems very robust about being pruned once it has reached a good size.

Thank you CD for your reply.
I have only recently seen your answer to my query as I needed to update my account. Thanks again, feel confident about pruning my Golden Ellen now.
regards,
Elaine.

Hi Elaine. Glad to help. Is long as you cut to a bit that still has buds or fresh growth it seems to be fine, though I'd be cautious if it was frosty. It will look a it rough for a bit but then thicken up nicely.
