The shrub is approx. 1.5 m height and spread. It is growing in a east-facing border, which is in partial shade, in a sheltered garden on the west coast of Scotland.

Could be a viburnum opulus.

Thank you Elaine. I thought it could be V. oculus, but there are no berries.

could be viburnum opulus sterile, is it young?the flowers will tell you what variety.
