Hi Becky, a few suggestions on our social media include:

"Hardy wallflower???"
"not sure but it could be a variegated Erysimum ...?"

FYI - Erysimum is a wallflower so it seems a few people think it is that.

"Verbena. Sometimes lemon fragranced. Sometimes other leaf scents...But those woody stems..."
"This looks like a Vervain - sometimes I think called lemon balm in this country? I originally bought mine in France. Lovely lemony smell."

I hope these suggestions help?

Cheers, Nicola

If it is erysimum, they are short lived, let it go to seed, it might not have variegated seedlings, but then the alternative is from cuttings.

Agree being a wall flower Erysimum linifolium Variegatum, prop is pretty easy, will strike from cuttings, find ideally taken in mid summer but may be ok to try soft cuttings now, normally put into pot of mix 40% coir 60%sharp sand
