Hi I'm looking for advice on a small Acer I bought 4 months ago. I have planted it in my garden and it seems to be dying. It's leaves are shrivelling and dropping. It's not grown any height either. I have it in quite a sunny west facing spot which is fairly sheltered. Any advice welcomed. TIA

It looks a little dry. Acres need lots of water especially when newly planted. As it is near a fence (?) it probably misses out on some of the rain.

Acers prefer shelter and a bit of shade - too much sun can scorch leaves - they will recover.

But they do like to have moist roots - so you need to water it well twice a week. But not everyday
