Be really grateful if anyone can shed light on this one. It's flowering on bare stems in mid February. Creamy tight flower buds. In autumn it's leaves were mid green, shiny, oval, not very veined and reminded me a little of a Viburnum tinus leaf. Fairly sure it's a deciduous Viburnum but buds show no sign of pink which most do before white flowers appear. Not seen it in full flower .

Many thanks to anyone who can help!

Viburnum opulus maybe? If so, the fragrance will be marvellous.

I don't see any thorns on it but my first impression of it was a flowering quince.
