I was given this plant by a friend in spring. Was just a 4 inch shoot with 2 leaves at the time. Now has slender 4 foot stem which requires support as no tendrils or similar. Lovely pink/ purple lantern shaped flowers appearing in late June. No fragrance to speak of. Flowers bob in the wind. Reminds me of molecular models that we used to have in chemistry lessons. Any ideas. Thanks

If you post a picture of the leaves, I may know for sure, it could be one of the thalictrums.

Those look like thalictrum to me, but I would not have made the connection without Elaine's suggestion. I don't know the variety.
