Any idea what this is?

It just appeared earlier this summer in the slate infill between my driveway and front path. I've included my size 6 (EU 39) shoes for scale. As yet no flowers have appeared.

I am responding from the US, so the scale will not work, it looks like a bulb of some sort, the silver in it reminds me of a spring crocus, but they don't come up, the muscari are up, the ornithogalums have that silver stripe. I can't imagine a dracena coming up from seed, I am sure Carol or Pauline will help.

Hah! Cracked it. It's a seedling from a mature Miscanthus. In the parent plant the leaves are mostly folded lengthwise so the white line is not visible. Ive just spotted one that is not folded, and there is the white line.
