Large silver-grey flower bud about 4” across. Similar look to an artichoke but papery bracts like helichrysum. Spread of about a metre and 1 1/2 metre tall. In bud June at Ushaw College, Durham.

Check out the centaureas, C.hypoleuca blooms in May through June then again in August
