Hi, I wonder if anyone can identify this plant in my neighbour's garden for us please. My husband is concerned it is a chestnut tree and obviously we are concerned about the size it will grow and the impact on our garden. It has grown quite quickly over the last few weeks of nice weather.

Another reply from social media "It does look like a chestnut tree ( Castanea .."
"Possible African bean tree (Catalpa bignonioides)!"
"Yes looks like horse chestnut to me. May need a drink from the looks of things. Odd choice to put in a domestic garden. They’re ravaged my leaf miner and canker in many parts of the uk now."
"Leaf habit is not typical of horse chestunut (Aesculus hippocastanum) although it could be some other form of Aesculus."
"Horse chestnut tree, probably grew from a conker planted by a squirrel. I’m constantly pulling them out from our garden."

Thank you for your replies..I agree the foliage is a little strange for a horse chestnut but I definately think we need a calm word with our neighbours
