Hey team,

Walking today in the Bristol area, in a small wooden patch I encountered this! Never in my life seen one before.
Struggling to even identify the family or genus. Seems somehow tropical, though of course I'm sure it's not..
It has a very subtle but sweet perfume to it.

If you have any intel, I'm all ears!
many thanks

james

Hi James, a few replies from our helpful social media followers:

"Lords and ladies, a type of Arum."
"Arum"
"That’s Lords and Ladies Arum maculatum"
"Red hot poker ..poisonous"
"look up cuckoo pint (Lords and ladies) ... red hot poker to me is always kniphofia we grow in our garden. cannot comment on poisonous or otherwise."
"I've seen a few in my walks lately, usually in a shady spot. I was wondering what they were."

Hope that helps? Cheers
