Pieris. Traditional sort. In gardens since at least Victorian times.

Thank you Mrs. Bentley - it's a tree about 3o feet high (see photo) ; most of the piers I know are shrubs.
But it is quite lovely!

This is Portuguese Laurel, Prunus lusitanica.
