My Dumbcane plant doesn't seem to be doing very well. The are turning brown. This is the second one I've had. In the past, it thrived really well. I gave it away. Please help!

Dumbcane

Reply from Marissa Zoppellini

Hi Gwendolyn, perhaps it has been either over or under watered? Generally, it should not dry out in summer, nor should it be waterlogged and, at this time of year, it should be watered moderately when the compost has dried. I would check that the container has adequate drainage and good compost. Using liquid feeds and fertilisers at too strong a dilution is also a problem for any plant, so avoid that. Not too much to go on but I can't think of what else to suggest. I hope that it recovers for you! Marissa
