This plant is growing in my garden in the Uk in a large clay part, next to a hedge. Despite practically no care other than trimming off occasion dead parts and a splash of water now an then, it continues to survive. Its evergreen and generally later in the year is has a cluster of small erect flower resembling a catkin. but as said, erect. There are green/white in colour. It has no berries. It has been established for close on 10 years if not more. I can't recall where it was got. It has proven hardy through many cold winters and hot dry summers.

Umbrella Sedge, Cyperus alternifolius. This is clearly a variegated form, but I don't know the cultivar. There is a form, C. a. variegatus, but this is not quite the same.
