Does anyone know the red leafed shrub in front of the Choisya please?

Although it's difficult to see the plant's stems and weather the leaves are opposite or alternate, I'd guess it's either a Nardina or an Itea Virginica sweetspire. The latter would have remnants of the drooping long flowers which in your case are not seen, so the former is more likely. I might be wrong though.
