Hello. I've tried everywhere inc. RHS to find an ID for what I believe must be a common garden shrub, which I want to buy more of, but it is a mystery. It has almost gone over and was flowering best in early May. It is deciduous, loosely shrubby, green leaves, almost Hawthorn-like in shape. Extremely fragrant clusters of small yellow flowers with five slim petals at the tips of the twigs that have a strong gorgeous scent all day. It doesn't look amazing, but the strong scent is beautiful, so we want more. Sited in far North East England, so very hardy. Please ID if you can. I'm not tech so have no photos to upload. Thank you.
