What a stunning plant! full of blue flowers on 4 stems when first bought, but flowers soon died after a few frosts. However, after removing the dead flower heads, a few weeks later in June its began to flower again - not fully yet though. Any tips welcomed.

Hi Steve,

Echiums do sometimes recover well from frost damage. Things sounds promising for your specimen, and you may well find that it sends out a number of new side shoots which flower. If you’re prone to frosts protect the plant in the winter months by wrapping with some horticultural fleece.

Remember to add to your ‘plants I have’ list to receive regular care instructions. http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/plant/echium-pininana
