This plant is new to me. Planted last November. I am surprised that the small pink flowers started appearing a couple of weeks ago which seems very early according to advice. Is there a day length effect of a strong street lamp nearby? thanks

Hi, Eliza,
It is early for your S.'Matrona' to flower. The street lamp might have an effect depending upon what type of bulb is used. Also, has it been unseasonalbly warm where you live? That might have caused early flowering, too

Hi Kathy
Thanks for your reply to my question. I live in south London and it has been...still is!... very hot, so perhaps that is why the plant is flowering.
Thanks
