Hi, Roger,
Conifers, as a general rule, tend to suffer from tranplant shock worse than deciduous shrubs/trees. Cut out the brown parts, make sure the plant is firmly in the ground, and since it has been recently planted, and if the weather has been unseasonably warm, make sure it is getting plenty of moisture.
