Please tell me, do I take up the plant or just cut back in November? I live in mid Lincolnshire.

Hi Hondaracer,

You should be fine just cutting back the faded flower stems. Bear in mind though that this is a fairly short lived perennial, so you might want to take some cuttings in spring.

Don’t forget to add to your ‘plants I have’ list to receive regular care instructions: Scabiosa atropurpurea 'Chile Black'.

Hope this helps!
Katy

Thanks Katy,
I thought the plant should be cut back to the ground in November. I do cut the dead flowerheads. I will take your tip and take cuttings next spring. Thanks again.
