How do you get rid of Phormium mealybug as i have lost 3 mature plants to this pest and before i plant other i would like to know how to rid this pest.

You can get organic stuff called 'Plant Rejuvenator'. Mixed with water and sprayed on, it gets rid of mealy bugs in two sessions. I'd been infested with them for years before I found it. It's harmless to kids / animals. I get mine from the green gardener website. Post back if you want the manufacturer's name - I can't get it right now because I don't want to disturb Dave, our kitten, who's fast asleep on my knee!

Hi Mealybugs are beyond annoying, my advice would be to use a thiacloprid based insecticide, or if you prefer something less harsh a fatty acid based treatment can be bought, but will need more frequent treatments. Good old Ladybirds will biologically be rid of them, but how to encourage them is the issue. Hope is helpfull c
