I overwintered mine in the greenhouse and it has survived. I trimmed the dead stalks and watered Very sparingly. I’m in the northwest so it’s still in the greenhouse until later in May.

I bought this clematis after admiring it in my brothers garden. I waited expectantly for the first flush of flowers. They are a lovely shade of pink!
Have I bought an imposter? Ah, the joys of gardening.

Thank you so much Elaine. I have been wanting to find the name after losing the plant label. I can now look it up in Shoot and and hopefully it will thrive in my garden.

This Clematis is hidden from view, would it be possible to move it to a more suitable position. If so when is the best time to do it. Hope someone has the answer.

I have only recently seen your answer to my query as I needed to update my account. Thanks again, feel confident about pruning my Golden Ellen now.

My Gold Ellen shrub has completely overgrown the path leading to my greenhouse. Is it possible to prune it back now, or do I need to wait until springtime.?

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for your advice. I have taken the plunge and planted the rose in a pot against the garage wall. I am looking forward to see how it performs. Thank you once again.

Thank you Elaine,
I have pruned it to 6ins above ground. Mulched, and given it a good clematis feed. Fingers crossed and I hope for the best. Thanks once again.
