Opinions on Strulch sought please

from Gill Greetham

I have recently found about a pproduct called Strulch ( a mix of Straw and mulch) I suspect. I am now trying to gather opinions as it seems to be recommended for deterring slugs and snails, So the questionsare:
(1) has anyone had any experience of using it ?
(2) does it deter slugs and snails?
(3) would you recommend the product?

Hi there I think it Eupatorium maculatum and is beloved by butterflies, as its quite tall could it not fit at the back of a border rather than be treated as a weed?
