Re: Climbing hydrangea - why so few flowers?

from Natasha Jaeger

I read that climbing hydrangea is not supposed to be pruned. We have one, and it has been flowering fine, even though it has been left to its own devices for a few years.

I was inspired by this Wollerton garden

from Natasha Jaeger

I am still in the process of redesigning the garden, and looking for new ideas. So I was browsing links from The Telegraph website, and came across this beautiful garden website with many good size photos. http://www.wollertonoldhallgarden.com/garden.html

Re: Mulching Sedums

from Natasha Jaeger

Thanks, Kathy. I mulch all flower beds with shredded tree bark to stop the weed and retain moisture only. We have sandy soil which dries quickly.

Re: Hydrangea annabelle shrivelling

from Natasha Jaeger

Hi, I am petrified of all my newly planted Hydrangea Limelight having new leaves shrivelled. I was afraid of it getting too little water so I give it plenty now.

Could the reason be either frost or lack of acidity? We had a touch of frost a week or so after planting them.

I also have a problem with a mophead hydrangea which I have erreneously replanted a week ago. Many leaves are wilting... Will it survive?

Thanks in advance!
