I have just installed a new greenhouse and a dedicated greenhouse forum would be useful to me as I have no previous experience.

I have a long row of Leylandii x Cupressocyparis (Leyland cypress) which are thinning at the base. I want to plant Prunus laurocerasus 'Rotundifolia' (Cherry laurel 'Rotundifolia') between each tree. What should I do to ensure success?

I have a number of Hebes in my garden (Hebe pinguifolia 'Sutherlandii' (Hebe 'Sutherlandii' ) and Hebe rakaiensis (Shrubby veronica). They are all 12 year old and have never been pruned. They are beginning to look straggly with open areas in the centre. What can I do to recover them?

The land is east facing and sloping. Some of the bank gets sun throughout the day but much of it is shaded by the overhanging Leylandii.

I have a Ceanothus arboreus 'Trewithen Blue' in my garden. It was very vigorous, if lopsided, but it is now dying, possibly following snow damage a few years ago. The bark is cracking open and each branch is dying one by one. It was planted as a sapling 12 years ago and is now 15cm diameter. The soil is pH 8 and heavy. I would like to replace it; how can I take and propagate cuttings from its one remaining healthy branch and how should I prepare the soil to prevent a recurrence of this problem?

Are there any plants that would add colour and thrive underneath a row of mature Leylandii x Cuprocyparis
