The Garden Goddess Ltd, Rivendell (SN14)

Styles: Contemporary, Courtyards and small terraces, English cottage, Organic, Wildlife

Soil types: Clay

Soil drainage: Moist but well-drained

Soil pH: Neutral

Aspect: North, East

This is a new planting scheme using existing plants in a semi shady area. Using a lot of the existing plants and introducing new ones, the balance of the planting is addressed and all season interest will be created. Small narrow paths separate the different shaped beds. A new garden design is also created for the rear of the property, which will tie into the house and enable added areas to sit and enjoy the sun at different times of the day.

About me
I am a Garden Designer based in the beautiful city of Bath. I come from a background of Fashion Design but having grown up on a smallholding. I have a strong knowledge of plants, pruning, horticulture and I only garden organically. I design gardens for the individual as it is important that the client can connect with their space. Balance, proportion, perspective, texture & colour are all important aspects that are considered within the design process. I love working closely with my clients to ensure they are 100% happy with the process and after it has all finished, to ensure the care of their garden is maintained. I will guide and teach and after all a garden should not be hard work, it is there to be enjoyed and taken pleasure from.

Gardening expertise
Professional

Biggest gardening accomplishments
Rather than gardening accomplishments, my satisfaction comes from the pleasure I see in my clients faces when their garden is completed and over the coming months & years of the enjoyment they get from it and from the new knowledge they get from caring for the plants. Being organic, creating eco structures within a new area and making sure the plants I choose are beneficial to all wildlife.

Biggest gardening frustrations
There are not enough hours in the day......

The gardening project I am currently working on
I have a year long project to transform a garden that has become overwhelming to a garden that feels manageable and to have so much enjoyment to be in or to look out on when those days are cold and wet.
