A fairly level garden on a new build plot, that has some screening issues and heavy clay soil. It is a good size and the brief is to create a garden that can be enjoyed, has storage, creates screening and gives a good back bone of planting that covers all seasons but not requiring high maintenance. The various borders covers different aspects of light so giving a varied planting scheme. Cost is important so a few decent size plants to give instant height and impact, but most 2L and 9cm pots. The existing paving slabs that the builders had initially used are continued with the introduction of pavers to break it up. There is a focal element of a pergola with slats on part of the top to give some instant shade until the climbers have matured. There is not a published plan for this garden yet.
