About me
My love of gardening started when I bought my first home. I started with the book by Mel Bartholomew, "Square Foot Gardening." My garden was three square feet ... literally. Like everything in life, I needed to learn about the thing I loved. That first love affair never wilted. Today, as a retired person, I am working on my ninth garden.
I am glad I stumbled onto Shoot which fills my gap in knowledge of plants. Good job!
Gardening expertise
Very Keen
Biggest gardening accomplishments
My fifth garden. We build it with my husband, and I planted it just following my gut feeling and beauty of the photographs in the plant catalogue. It turned out so well, that the buyer of the house said this is what sold it.
Biggest gardening frustrations
1) Latin names. I am not good at remembering regular names. Latin completely throws me off.
2) Flooding in my yard each spring. It's a challenge that makes me think I should hire a landscape architect to find a permanent solution.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Rain garden. Dry river bed. "Tabula rasa" yard that calls to me to fill it with beauty and creative garden design.
