This garden has a small pond with a bank behind it. There is a medium roundish lawn and borders which follow the lawn shape. There are a number of mature trees which create quite dry conditions. This garden is also home to my new fruit and veg beds which my Dad and I made this year from timber rescued from a skip. I don't want to be too ambitious so have started small with some garlic, onions, carrots and potatoes. There are also a couple of raspberry canes, a red and blackcurrant (planted last year). This garden is at it's very best in March with bulbs, blossom and loads of frogs and frogspawn! There is not a published plan for this garden yet.
There are no plants in the wish list for this garden.
About me
Busy working mum, with more ideas than time! I have been pottering in our garden for 10 years, with the usual challenges of providing a fun play space for children, somewhere to entertain and a garden that gives me that buzz of seeing something flourish and support the local wildlife.
Gardening expertise
Very Keen
Biggest gardening accomplishments
A lovely spring border in the shade this year, with hellebores, primroses, Iris and spring bulbs. It made my heart sing!
Built three veg beds from scrap wood in the cold and wet in February which now feature Garlic, Onions, Carrots and Potatoes. My first proper venture into the edible garden.
Biggest gardening frustrations
Planting perrenials with great hopes, only for them to die/disappear either the first year planted or through their first winter.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Veg beds and creating a wild flower area.
