About me
Melanie Driver Landscape & Garden Design is a professional design service, established in 2001. We design complete landscapes to planting schemes in Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, London and beyond for private clients and architects on mainly residential projects. We think that designing is listening and turning problems into opportunities. We believe in simplicity and aspire to deliver honest and timeless experiences. Great care is taken to ensure that the client comes first and the design is appropriate for the character and location of individual sites, whether its an urban courtyard or a large country garden. We work with a range of specialists in hard landscaping, arboriculture, carpentry, nurseries, lighting, water, bespoke art and metalwork to achieve the best for your outdoor space.

Biggest gardening accomplishments
Creating over 100 beautiful gardens which have brought pleasure to a lot of clients and added value to many properties. Winning several awards in 2010 has also been a major achievement.

Biggest gardening frustrations
Good design adds value but gardens need to evolve, good maintenance is the key to developing the potential of a planting scheme. Its becoming increasingly hard to find qualified people to help with gardens and probably the biggest frustration in the industry currently. Shoot is a massive help!

The gardening project I am currently working on
A small modern garden in a smart new built on the outskirts of Cambridge. Challenging because of the clay and the huge walls surrounding it. We have found design solutions which draw the focus downwards and are creating a more intimate space with colour, beautiful surfaces and great lighting.
