About me
I am gardening in Denmark - a little colder than the UK. When we moved to our own house in 1989 I suddenly found myself gardening - something I did not know that I wanted to or was good at - but I did and I aspire to be! I like flowers a lot - perennials, annuals, bulbs, climbers...but also wildlife in the garden - currently various birds, a hedgehog, frogs, and a wild ferret. The garden is also inhabited by less wild animals, four cats of which only one, the moggy, is allowed to roam freely: Two blue abyssinians, Figaro and Fausto, an ocicat, Kiki, and Stoffer, the old moggy - half abyssinian, half barnyard cat.
Gardening expertise
Very Keen
Biggest gardening accomplishments
Building a 1 m high, 15 m long stone wall with my own small hands. Establishing, with my husband as carpenter, a combined patio and cat enclosure acting at the same time as support for wine and clematises.
Biggest gardening frustrations
Getting rid of very persistent weeds, like goutweed. Getting rid of some very vigourous bushes that were here before me, and which grow on a steep noise barrier: Lonicera nitida and Kerria japonica.
The gardening project I am currently working on
See above! But also, I am starting to grow gooseberries and currants on trellises.
