a small garden with several (all challenging) aspects to the right of my front door (south facing) is a herbaceous border about 20 feet long and 8 feet wide with (too many) herbaceous subjects, to the left of this is the larger part of my front garden, about 20 feet by 30 feet full of mixed subject such as rheum (sumach) pinus koreana mixed grasses to name but a few under my front window is a dry border 20 feet long by 3 feet wide can never figure out what to do with this valuable bed, continuing on to the side of the house, the same narrow bed borders the house at the moment containing alpines, to the rear (north facing) about 30 feet long by 40 feet wide I have a mixture of species such as dicksonia antarctica hostas, ferns and grasses, I have attempted to cultivate musa basjoo with reasonable success a fast growing bay tree, and many other subjects such as ivy, clematis and tropeaolum
