Kimberley Cahill, My Garden (HP14)

Styles: Allotment or vegetable plot, Rural, Water, Wildlife

Soil types: Chalky

Soil drainage: Well-drained

Soil pH: Alkaline

Light: Full Sun, Partial Shade

Aspect: North, East

Exposure: Exposed

Hardiness: Hardy (H4)

My garden is long, thin and set on the side of a hill, surrounded by fields. The slope has been made manageable by making 3 terraces which divide the garden into 3 different spaces, the first has a swimming pool with a brick retaining wall and steps up to an area with a grass patch (lawn would be too posh a discription) 2 apple trees and flower beds. The back area is reached by 2 steps, its has a patio of paving stones and brick insets. It is in full sun and has another apple tree set into a flower bed and a small veg plot. I love roses, clematis, daisies and edible and aromatic plants with lots of places to sit and enjoy the peace, wildlife and beauty around me.
