A neglected garden, completely overgrown, with any lawn obliterated by self seeded bushes and trees, to a height of 15 feet across most of the plot. I created decking in spring / summer 07 to link a new extenstion to the garden. I cleared back to bare earth and levelled in Aug / Sept 07. Planting started autumn / winter 07. Some borders are still to be prepared, and a vegetable plot still to create.

Gardening expertise

Biggest gardening accomplishments
Bought a totally neglected garden & couldn't find any plants worth saving. Stripped it back to bare earth with the help of friends & family - a trusty winch and a colossal bonfire. Rotavated and levelled the entire plot, digging in all the ash and planted grass across the whole plot. Once established I cut the borders out dug in 1.5 tonnes of manure much to the fury of my wife (no side access to the garden!). Planted it all up spring 2008 and am finally enjoying the fruits of my labour.

Biggest gardening frustrations
Watering - its sooooooo boring.
