About me
I garden in extreme conditions! I have a 2.5 acre site on the west coast of Orkney. We are about 1 mile from the atlantic ocean and the winds can be very severe, so salt and wind are my biggest problems. On the positive side winters tend to be mild and in May, June and July it doesn't go dark so we have a very short, intense growing period.
Gardening expertise
Very Keen
Biggest gardening accomplishments
Ridding my garden of extensive Rosa Rugosa and learning how to identify the tiny differences in geraniums
Biggest gardening frustrations
Celandine and the salty and windy conditions in Orkney.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Gradually introducing some structure into a large informally planned garden. Replanting borders to extend the flowering season.
