I've divided my garden into 3 "rooms". Top terrace, lower courtyard and working area. Top terrance is a biggish raised bed, backed by 6foot fence. Roses, clematis and shrubs to cover fence and shrubs and herbaceous in the "border". The courtyard is mostly paving with planting round the edge. Roses, clematis, wisteria and shrubs to cover walls and fences with herbaceous to soften the paving. Working garden has shrubs and clematis to cover dividing screening, a raised bed for small veg/salad/herbs/cuttings, potting shed, 750 ltr water tank, bins, washing line etc. Garden is in its 2nd year.Tip: Click zoom out button above to see entire garden plan

About me
I enjoy working in the garden. I recently moved from a really large plot round a detached bungalow to a much smaller rear garden behind a terraced house. Garden an interesting shape. Decided NO GRASS any more and looking for low maintenance as I become less agile so created 3 smaller "rooms" where grass would not seem to be missing - a terrace, a summer house dividing the terrace from a courtyard and trelis screens dividing the courtyard from the potting/working area. First year was doing all the hard landscaping and over last winter/early spring I've been planting. For many of my plants this is their first full year.
