Shelagh McIntosh, My Garden (LL21)

Styles: Wildflower, Rural, English cottage, Allotment or vegetable plot, Wildlife

Soil types: Sandy

Soil drainage: Well-drained

Soil pH: Acid

Light: Full Sun, Partial Shade

Aspect: North

Exposure: Exposed, Sheltered

Hardiness: Hardy (H4)

Almost 1 acre, new build House. The garden is North facing on a steep slope. Stoney, sandy acid soil. A slow process to a garden from this land, needs lots of organic matter. I mulch it all every year using some home made animal, and bought in.

About me
Retired have a new garden to make. The land is on a steep slope, great for keeping fit. Gardening has always been a great interest, but work got in the way.

Gardening expertise
Very Keen

Biggest gardening accomplishments
It is a work in progress, if I ever finish this garden I will be very surprised. Spring 2015 it looks good every thing starting to grow the new beds from last years planting developing well.

Biggest gardening frustrations
The soil in this garden is very stoney and sandy, but it is fertile. I broke my ankle Jan 2015 now the angle of the slope is hard work

The gardening project I am currently working on
The whole thing trying to work from the house outwards.
