Biggest gardening accomplishments
Turning a rectangle of grass into a shady town centre garden with cobbled patio, a raised pond and lots of climbers, small trees and shrubs with a deep herbaceous border which attracted all sorts of wildlife into a previously barren spot. It took 20 years to accomplish. Last year we transformed a similar sized patch of terraced scrubby soil outside the kitchen door into a small patio area surrounded by a raised border together with a large herb garden which we have covered with slate shingle.

Biggest gardening frustrations
1) Mobility issues get in the way of doing what I know needs to be done! The first spring of working in the garden I was bitten by a tick and had a dreadful reaction, resulting in exposed nerves and eventual surgery. It's left me unable to do much of anything at all for very long. I now do a lot of pointing and consulting, which is mega frustrating for me and more so for my very hardworking husband. 2) Chickens are not as garden friendly as I'd imagined! 3) Ground elder ... there's a limit to the amount you can eat.
