About me
I learned most of my gardening knowledge from my mother in law, who studied gardening at Studley College and taught me a lot about gardening in the Lake District.
When we moved in 14 years ago, the garden was full of wild cherry saplings; bamboo and wild raspberry. We have got rid of the wild cherry and most of the wild raspberry but the bamboo pops up in the most amazing places.
Gardening expertise
Very Keen
Biggest gardening accomplishments
making a scree bed and creating interest and colour all year round.
Biggest gardening frustrations
the garden is on a steep slope and the subsoil is very stony and in places full of builders' rubble.
My latest problem is that my garden is overrun with rabbits - they have dug two burrows in the same shrub bed, despite my attempts to fill them in and block them - they come back and immediately start digging another burrow.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Am about to create a path to link the upper patio with the lower part of the garden.
