Medium sized garden with fruit trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials, and raised beds for vegetables. Last year the whole garden was turf, and its been a hard slog to turn it in to something both productive and beautiful. Biggest gardening accomplishments
So far .... planting three fruit trees, building 3 raised beds and creating borders. Planting to come in 2010.
Biggest gardening frustrations
When we built the raised beds, we filled it with the up-turned clods of turf we took up to create the borders. Whilst this has been a great way to recycle and fill the raised beds at no cost, we've had to accept that we needed to leave it a season to breakdown in to loam.
