pootros, advice please! v excited about the blank slate - on chalk. (SO32)

Styles: Wildlife, Rural, Child friendly, Allotment or vegetable plot

Soil types: Chalky

Soil drainage: Well-drained

Soil pH: Alkaline

Light: Partial Shade

Aspect: South

Exposure: Exposed, Sheltered

a green rectangle on chalk. where to start! It is 3/4 acre south facing in the majority full sun, has a fair sided north facing front garden actually gets partial sun, has a small shaded east area and a small west side with partial sun. The rest is grass and a few shrubs that don't flower! All bland and green! We have 2 bee hives and a veg patch. we are total novices.

The gardening project I am currently working on
want to turn a blank green rectangle into rooms, incorporate a small orchard, improve our autumn& winter colour and improve habitat for butterflies. I want to get the veg patch colourful and get the kids learning along with me.
