Smallish child-focussed garden on the north coast of N. Ireland, sandy soil, sloped and until July '09 a mess of concrete dust, rubble and nettles. At the bottom of the garden there is a castle for play, with incorporated storage for bikes, toys and tools. There is a small vegetable patch, mainly for children to nibble from, and narrow flower-beds with lots of climbers. Two patios with curves, seating and a small lawn break up the space.Tip: Click zoom out button above to see entire garden plan
About me
I have a new garden (last year it was waist high nettles only!) near the sea on the north coast of Northern Ireland. It's not big but I've fitted in a little vegetable patch as well as some flower beds. I garden with my two children and take a very relaxed approach - I'm keen to learn though!
Gardening expertise
Keen but Clueless
Biggest gardening accomplishments
Hacking back the nettles! Being relaxed enough about failure to try this project at all.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Starting a garden, including a vegetable patch, from what was nettles and rubble in July 2009.
