'Van Deman' _ 'Van Deman' is a vigorous, rounded, deciduous shrub or small tree with broadly ovate, dark green leaves, grey-downy beneath and turning yellow in autumn. Solitary, white flowers blooming from the leaf axils in spring are followed by large, edible, pear-shaped, pale yellow fruit ready for harvest in early autumn.
